Painted Drop Cloth Table Runner
This was a fun, fast and easy project…. Just like I like them!
I am deliberating whether or not to paint my dining room table and chairs,
I still can’t decide , but thought that in the meantime
I would make a table runner with some leftover drop cloth that I had.
I cut to size and hemmed the edges under…Then taped off with painters tape and rolled on paint.
I used a satin wall paint in off white. I love the slight contrast to the tan drop cloth.
after the paint dried, i pulled off the tape and laid the runner on the table… love it!
I have a studio/cottage in the back of the property full of old treasures and I dug out this old tool tray that I filled with goodies!
I was inspired by Miss Mustard Seed and her tray here.
The slipcovers on the chairs are a new sewing project and I am just finishing them up and I will put them in a separate post!
So should i paint the Table and Chairs or not????

Such a great idea! And the slipcovers for your chair…LOVE them!
love it, especially the slipcovered chair cushions! I wouldn’t paint the furniture if it were in my house. But I’m struggling with my dining room too, so what do I know?!
I love it!! The slight color difference between the drop cloth and the paint is wonderful!!
I tried painting a length of linen for a table runner this week and it was a HUGE FAIL! I’m completely jealous of how beautiful yours is! I love your chair slipcovers, and I think they are a great contrast with the wood. So for now, I’d enjoy my new slipcovers and hold of painting for a while!
Great table runner idea! Love it.Love those chairs, too. I know, I get tempted every now and then to paint my antique china closet and buffet. but it is really perfect wood from the 20′s so I don’t… Yours looks to be in great condition too. Although it would look awesome painted white. It’s pretty awesome a la natural. And I love the little wheels.
This is a fantastic idea! The dropcloths are huge and there is always enough for several projects. Thank you for the inspiration!
Great tutorial. thanks for sharing. I blogged hopped over here from someones linky party. can’t remember. Anyhow, I have been wanting to do the same type of thing for my dining table and buffet. Your tutorial will be a big help in my getting it done.
This is so pretty! I love the white stripes. Thanks so much for linking up to Think Pink Sundays! I featured you today on FB & Twitter!
The dining room setting, including the runner looks fantastic. Particularly impressed with the chairs.
Wow! Your table runner turned out fabulous. I just love the versatility of drop cloths. On painting the furniture…wow that’s a tough one. It’s so beautiful but I do love the white. What a hard decision! Thank you for sharing your project with us at Inspiration Friday.
