Handpainted Coral Pillow
While I was slipcovering the sofa I decided to stitch up a pillow cover and paint some coral on it. Coral is all the rage this year, especially here in Florida, and i love it, !
I cut a 21 inch square, painted my coral on the front … I used satin wall paint and had to give it 2 coats. let it dry. Then i cut 2 peices for the back to form an envelope style, because i am way too lazy for zippers, placed right sides together and stitched. flip out, ironed and then i stitched 2 inches in to form the flange, is that what’s is’t called? a flange?
The Chenille Pillows came from a bedspread that i cut up and then I piped in Drop Cloth… very kid and dog friendly and that is a must in this house!

This came out great! Your header is so pretty.
Very pretty. I also love your reuse of the chenille bedspread and piping them in drop cloth is genius.
Gosh! I just LOVE that pillow! I think it would be quite expensive to buy that handpainted pillow in a decorator’s shop (which is where it looks like it came from). Great job.
I love all the pillows, and the dropcloth piping. i think I will follow your intersting blog!
This is beyond adorable!!! Love it! I am visiting from the DIY Show Off and I am a new follower!!
Hope you have a great week and I see you over at my blog soon!

Pillows look great, the hand painted design is an excellent way to finish it off. Well done.
That is absolutely GORGEOUS! It looks like something you would find in the Ballard’s catalog which would of course be really expensive. All of your pillows on your sofa are beautiful and we are always so thrilled when you share your creativity with us at Inspiration Friday!

lovely, i’m featuring you tomorrow on my site! good job!
Love the coral- is that a readily available stencil or custom made?
Hi Lauren, Thanks for the compliment! I just freehanded it as i went along… it was really easy, although time consuming. I am thinking next time i will make a stencil!
Was so hoping it was a stencil I could get my hands on- can’t find one I like as much as yours
Thanks for the quick response, Jeri!
just a question, where did you get the coral stencil from? It looks fab! Thanks
